A research collaboration between the departments of Chemistry and the Research Laboratory for Archaeology & History of Art in Oxford finds pesticides linked to the degradation of archaeological artefacts.

The paper by Luciana da Costa Carvalho, Dana Goodburn-Brown, James S. O. McCullagh and A. Mark Pollard titled, "The influence of pesticides in the corrosion of a Roman bowl excavated in Kent, UK" has been published in Nature Scientific Reports. The importance of this work has been shown in articles from the Evening Standard, the Independent, the Express, Haaretz, and other news outlets.
