Instrument description:

The Shimadzu GC-2010 Pro is equipped with an AOC-20 series autoinjector and a sensitivity flame ionisation detector. In order for a compound to be analysed by GC-FID it must be sufficiently volatile and thermally stable. In addition, compounds may require chemical modification (derivatization), prior to analysis, to eliminate undesirable adsorption effects that would otherwise affect the quality of the data obtained.

Typical applications:

Separation of organic compounds by boiling point and sensitive quantification across a wide dynamic range using flame ionisation detection.
